Got my old Ford out to aerate some lawns. Just got the drum filled up with water to go to work when she died... graveyard dead. Would turn over but would'nt light off. Traced the problem through the coil and into the distributor. Tore into it and lo and behold the insulator that the wire to the points and condenser goes through had disintegrated, and she was grounding out. Made a wire that I connected from coil directly to points/condenser, shot a little RTV into the hole the wire passed through to seal it up and was back in business. Fixed it and eliminated a bunch of unnecessary parts..(brass bolt and copper conductor) Cant wait to try and get the weed-eater running.
