Anyone who thinks fluid filled tires are more efficient than an air filled tire with the same amount of iron ballast is confused. Fluid prevents the tire from conforming to the ground and reduces tractive effort. If fluid ballast was superior dont you think tractor manufacturers would choose it for Nebraska tests over cast iron ballast? There is a reason they dont choose liquid.....
Ride quality is greatly deminished as a direct function of how much fluid is added to the tire as well. Cast iron weights always have residual value. Liquid ballast has little to none. (you'd have to pay me to take the stuff)...
