Here is a poem I learned when I was in Kindergarten. (about 51 years ago)It does involve tillage of the soil. When the fields are plowed in spring, the worms are fatter than anything. The birds come flying from all around to eat those worms right off the ground. They like them just as much as You and I, like bread and milk and apple pie. Once when I was very young, I put a worm right on my tongue. I didn"t like the taste of it so I don"t swallow it But Oh, it makes my Mother squirm, because she thinks I ate that worm.
