About 5 cents a kilowatt hour in the Pacific Northwest. Hydro power- can't beat it. That, combined with the ideal weather for them makes heat pumps the heat of choice around here.
By the way, our electric bills are a little higher here because the Feds have mandated that the PUD supply 10% "green" power- that's wind and solar. Why not hydro? Its as green as it gets. But that would not advance the cause, so hydro doesn't count.
