Check out Mt Home, AR area. Lots of folks from Wisconsin down here, and a ton of ex-Chicagoans. Nice hospital here if your wife wants to work. Yes, the taxes are slightly lower in MO. I know several people who work at the hospital but bought land in MO because of lower tax rates. However, after the commute to and from the hospital on the crooked roads around here plus the high cost of fuel, they wonder if they should have found something closer. The real estate market got bid up to the stratosphere here about 10 yr ago, but the market has cooled off somewhat now. Good luck, this whole 4 state area has 4 seasons and generally friendly folks.
