I live in Missouri the Lake of the Ozarks area. Taxes here are cheap and land if you look in a rural area is cheap as in under $1500 per acre. If you get down in the south east area of Missouri you can find places there that are out in the woods and very rural and cheap. Have a friend who picked up 45 acres last fall for $65,000 but it is hill side no farm land but there is a lot of good farm land here but not in the south of the state unless you want to do cattle and hay
