I resisted using a credit card for years, until my local bank started pushing their name brand debit card. I gave in and tried it. It is handy for cardtrol gas pumps and ordering online. In spite of their assurance that it has the same protection of a credit card, I was not comfortable with that card having access to my main checking account. I went back in and set up a new account just for the debit card with just enough in it to cover my usual months debit card use (a few hundred $$), with no transfer to the card account without my personal sign off. I feel this protects my account and the bank, with the limited $$ in the debit card can access.
