John Deere Model 70 from the 1950's

Hello Folks,

This is my first post on this forum so let me know if I screw it up.

I'm helping my friend get his tractor running that's been sitting for a year or two. It's a John Deere Model 70, 2 cylinder gas.

The gas was no good, we cleaned out the sediment bowl but we still can't get a good flow of gas to come out of the tank.

My question is: what are the two other small lines above the sediment bowl? They look like they might be some kind of oil pressure signal for shutting the fuel off? Can you please explain to me how this unit works?
