Well, thanks for the feedback. I think I'm gonna pass on this one and see what happens. We have a run down hay field here, so the sod is pretty sparse at best, soil and water guys says to just go ahead and no till drill into whats there for now and we'll see how that works. Soil test was done last fall, 2 ton per acre of lime installed then, along with half the fertilizer the test called for. We will be installing the other half this weekend. this field lays on top of a ridge and gets plenty of sunshine and good drainage....hate to plow it for fear of the weather I can't control. For now we will experiment a little at a time and see if anything works well. And I remember way back when dad used to yell at me for making those ridges in the disked corn ground, nothing worse than a rough hay field.
