Well, now, that was interesting! I Googled, "who wrote the song It's Only the Wind", and found TWO songs with the same name! One, about an elderly lady who thought she heard her children at the door, but it was "only the wind" was written by Tom T. Hall. The version that I listened to was sung by a lady named Lisa Ray. This is the song that you must be referring to. But there is another song with the same name that was recorded by Billy Dean back in 1991. It has a totally different set of lyrics, and is also a good song. I listened to it on youtube music. By the way, for all you lovers of the Green and Yellow, Billy Dean also has one out called, "She Left a Dear John Letter on MY John Deere Tractor". It's kinda funny. I'm glad you posted the question, I learned something tonight. Not likely that it will ever make me rich, but at least I have the satisfaction of knowing.
