When I was 12 I begged my dad to go out back duck hunting. It was fall and ducks were coming in to the corn stubble in the evening. He was tired from work but went with me as the law required. I shot a black duck as it landed an winged it. I ran out and got it. "ring its neck" he said. So i twirled it around by its head and we carried it up fron the back of the 40 acre field. It was cold out so I took it in the basement and spread some news papers out and went to get a bag for feathers and a knife. I told my sister to go check it out and she said where is it? After the shooting, the ringing, and carrying it all the way home by the neck, it was crawling around the basement!
