My grandmother passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon, at home on the farm. Grandpa was napping just a few feet from her when she passed. They had been married for I think 67 years. Grandma had parkisons disease pretty bad. Her last 4 years had been soley in the hospital bed. It was 17 years since she was able to do what she wanted to without physical restrictions. Grandpa is taking it hard. He is 94. He is feeling all alone, and this will be a rough road ahead for him. My mom had taken charge of Grannys home care since we brought her home from the nursing home 7 years ago. She was there for recovery from a broken hip. Those bastards damn near killed her then. Brought her home and once their sedatives were out of her system, she was a new woman. That was 7 years ago. I miss you Granny, but you are in a better place now. We love you, and will take good care of Grandpa.
