Reminds me of a P61 Widow story. Two people were flying to New Guinea to teach a class on how to assemble and maintain them. The one closest to the window said - "We must be late, two just flew by!" The ground crews had been getting parts they did not recognize. They had piled them up in a hangar - figuring they belonged somewhere. Then two unidentified airframes showed up. They put two and two together and figured out how to assemble them. Some of the can do spirit... My fathers unit in Egypt drove Italian made trucks they bought from the locals - theirs were still in Richmond.
