I would go with the conventional steel siding that comes in many different colors. The bottom 4ft I would make a different color. This also helps if you hit the side of the shed mowing or with a tractor implement etc it's easier to replace the bottom 4ft section than the whole piece on the side of the building. Cheaper too!!
What I found out with vinyl siding is if you need to replace a piece of it in 5-10 years you can't find any to match and have to live with the damaged piece on the building or replace the whole side of the building.
