Well, I can partially answer your question. I believe TSC has changed their sickle vendor within the past year.
I have used some of TSC brand (that are shinney in color like chrome almost) top serrated sections on my 1120 and they seem fine.
I have also noticed that newer packages TSC sections are no longer shinney but simply a dull metel color and the package is slightly different too. This is what leads me to believe their vendor has changed. I have yet to try any of these dull in colr ones, but the quality does indeed look inferior at a quick glance.
