According to JD area service manager way back when I worked for a JD dealer JD rd baler belts shrink not stretch with use.
Yes belts can be relaced a time or two without ill affects. What happens when belts aren't real close to same lengths are belt & rollers wear on each other from "trying to run" different distances.
You would get much longer life out of the laces if you would change to the alligator type laces with the solid connecting pin instead of the clipper type.
