I agree, I did see the documentary and saw the mini series last memorial day weekend. Realizing it was TV/actors and all, I had hoped it would be accurately portrayed, not sure if it was or was not, hopefully it was.
My reaction to it was that the entire situation was extremely sad, the things people do to each other.
The characters certainly exhibited intelligence and tact, the public probably thought they were just some backwoods fools. Thats what gets me, a real shame, though a long time ago, people should learn from it.
I think the worst thing I thought is how the public thought it was a carnival show, in reality, a very sad tale of people who could not overcome their differences and resorted to what happened.
