About 40 or so miles east of me highway 64 crosses Jordan Lake. When the lake was built and the road re-built to accommodate same, the shoulders were built about 30 or 40 feet wide. I used to drive by there at night and deer would be grazing on the shoulder of the road oblivious to traffic. Never saw evidence or heard of any being hit.
