the 285, 1080, and 1085 use the same shaft, and according to the picture the butt of the shaft is bigger than the splined end on the outside.
Never had it out, although I think we need to replace the bearing soon on the 540 shaft in the tractor. Seems to have some extra slop in it. But then again, pretty much everything this tractor does uses the pto, so it runs a LOT
