That wasn't the greatest Barris car .It was built by his son. That is also not the original Munster Coach. The original was lost in a private collection. Barris built a new one after the show was cancelled.It is two fiberglass bodies spliced together. The popularity of the [two cars-meanig Drag-U-La ] never waned.Both Munster Coaches were Ford powered. The show was cancelled because kids were watching Batman in the same time frame. The cars were just built and the producers had recieved van loads of mail from fans as far as europe to see more of the car. Hence the Munster [first ]movie that featured the cars racing in England.This was a chance for the producers to recoop lost money. Barris designed the Muster Coach in one weekend with help from his wife. He wanted a womans touch because in the script Lilly had the car made for Herman . Barris' wife came up with the interior and the curtains. The producers went crazy for it when he presented it to them at a meeting the following monday. On a sidenote I just picked up the two model kits Munster Coach and Drag-u-la at a store called Hobby Lobby . They are a reissue. I'm a bit of a picker myself and if Mike and Frank ever came to my home I would send them packing. I can't stand they way Frank negotiates. Either pay my price or put it down.When they great the seller the camera crew is already in the guys house but they act like they never met.
