I had it done at the Dr. once with a syringe and I think warm water. One ear hurt because the nurse pushed the water in really hard. A few years later I had a problem but saw an ear wax removal kit in the drugstore. It had an ointment to loosen the wax and a rubber bulb similar to a syringe to flush the ear out with warm water. It worked just as good as going to the Dr.
