How many guys buy a lawn mower the day after a major winter storm? We've always wanted a zero turn mower but never got around to getting one.
We walked into Home Depot yesterday on a totally different mission and were confronted by a Toro unit, 50" deck, 21.5 hp Kawasaki engine, a last year's unit left over.
Original price $2999, on clearance sale for $1988. I asked if my 10% military discount applied. Since it was already on sale, I didn't know if the military discount applied. It did. That brought the price down to $1789, close to half price. That's when it got too tempting to walk away from.
Our main mower has been a Poulan 24hp, 54" deck unit, but from what I've heard about zero turns being faster than regular mowers, I'm figuring speed will make up for the Toro being slightly smaller. Guess we'll find out come mowing time.
