Ruby turned 100 years old Sunday and we had a little cake with her. She loves cornbread, so my wife made her a cornbread birthday cake...well at least it had candles on it.
She is an amazing woman. Down home, farm type gal. Been healthy most of her life. Father-in-law left us in 1983 and she has been living on her own ever since.
We were able to get her off the farm in 2006 and she's been living by herself in a little apartment.
My wife and I moved close by so we could 'Check-in' on her and make sure every thing is okay and take her for check ups and stuff, but she is doing real good most days...kind of on her own.
Here are some pics and she still has the mind to play bingo, we all enjoyed a little game of bingo at her 100th party.
I think this is something special these days and I just wanted to share.
