I don't agree that a two-cylinder can't be made to run smoothly. Something has been overlooked. 1) Compression needs to be close to equal on both cylinders 2) There can be no vacuum leaks either between the carburetor and manifold or between manifold and head 3) You need to have copper not graphite wires 4) Have you checked the tension of the valve springs 5) The carburetor must be cleaned with appropriate drill bits. Especially checkthe "hidden passage" The throttle disc has a tendency to wear along with the shaft bushings 6) Do you have the right heat range sparkplugs 7) If the plugs are oily you probably need rings 8) Check the air cleaner for blockage The list goes on as everything needs to be correct to run smoothly.
