I was really leery about pulling the trigger ,so I did a two hand hold for the first round, noticed how little recoil it had with the 45 round (top barrel) shot gun(lower barrel) 410 shell.shot with ONE HAND HOLD.So far we,-son and I only fired 4 rounds through it. waiting for warmer weather to pattern it out between 5=7 ft. It is a close up working weapon and not a distance shooting gun.From what I can surmise, the derringer was meant to discourage car jackers, and I have no doubt it would be a great deterrent for that purpose. What do you think about a woman using one,I figure it would be good for personal protection,when out and about, depending on the age and stature of the woman? As for me (77 yr old, with neuropathy) it works out just great. LOU
