I was just going to post back about that after having done more research. The Gleanor F3 had both hydro and V Belt options available. The MF 550, not 540, lists both. This is all from a source from 1985. We had a couple strong AC dealers then and everything I saw come in had a hydro because nearly everybody wanted a Mud Hog for their machine. I think all the 6620 and 7720 combines that came through were hydro as well. Probably V Belts were more prominent in wheat country. I guess effectively for what was sold around here back in the day the 4420 was the most widely available V Belt machine.
