must be some pretty crapy organic farmers down your way. I an 3 of my brothers hav been organic for 15+ years and exept me no one has dept.Farm a couple thousand acres and we do not spend more time in the feild than you or anyone else. We have combined 20 children and the oldest are teachers already. We don't get any hand outs and are doing verry well $$ wise. It is a great felling to put the crop in the ground wait till it is 3 inches high harrow it and walk away till it's time to combine. One brother does beans and corn so he cultivates in the summer, but the rest of us sit back and watch it grow. You must use a little more brain for weed control,but beans profit last year $800 an acre.
