I have a 2001 Dodge Ram with a 360 and auto transmission that throws the same code about once a month. Mine has 180,000 miles on it, transmission rebuilt at 130,000. At the time that cost almost two grand. Is it worth it? Well, it isn't worth much of anything not running at all.

The only thing about leaving the light on is that sometimes (unknown for sure on these trucks) they will go into a "limp" mode, causing them to get really bad gas mileage.
