When I first got into home building my brother and I were going to do a spec house. I had borrowed for different things in the past but my brother never did. He had enough cash on hand he could have paid for the cost of the house with it but we decided to borrow for it. The banker looked at my credit history and and said he had no problem giving me the money but he didn't like it that my brother had no credit history. We got the loan but having some credit history is not all bad either. Now days it is the score that they base everything on including auto insurance.
