I just welded a channel iron across my frame, then welded the nut to the channel iron. I renforced the channel iron with another plate welded to the inside of it. Just screw the ball out if you don"t need it. I leave mine in most of the time. I think my 03 F250 is about the 5th one I have done. Cost is about 15.00 for the ball. Vic
