I used to do a little beginner stained glass. I would try some of the larger towns that might have a stained glass business. Those machines are too valuable to let go to scrap. Someone should be able to get some use out of them. The smaller lead channel is called "came" It comes in different sizes and shapes. I have also seen the bigger stuff, but never worked with it.
Regular lead came is easy to come buy and not to expensive.
