If i had to choose and i did it would be and still is a savage in 22-250. If you look at a box of hornaday or anthing premium 223 and 22-250 are the same price somtimes 223 costs more. Most surplus 5.56 dont shoot worth a crap in a 223 varmant rifle anyway and you wont find any for a long time.A ffl friend of mine has got letters saying all ammo is going up 6 to 17% IN APRIL SO YOU WONT FIND ANY 223 FOR AWHILE!!!! You could prolly find 22-250 today and its a better round.As far as the gun they are all pretty decent after i bought my savage and it outshot my buddies remington i bought 2 more savages.
