I use to run studded snow tires on the wife's car, but they've outlawed them here in MD. The mail trucks still use them. Back in te 60's & 70's they never closed the schools. We live a little over a mile from the school and my wife always drove her to school. She was always saying how great those studded tires were. I installed the studs in the new tires in the kitchen.
