I bet they did look/have an 8000 series, that's why they bought the 49. The 4960 was the last good Deere built in my book. I worked for a deere dealership and did alot of repair/calibration on the 8000 series trans. Service manager came and asked my what was wrong, I said the 8000 shifted terrible, he drove it and said thats the way they are. I was new to the tractor when I started and wasn't impressed. chris
