I also joined about that time, but probably under my first and last name. At some time when the site underwent a software change to "Classic", a lot of names were lost. So being a bit more net savy regarding privacy issues, I took the more genetic name I now use.
Yes, there were a number of good people. One who comes to mind (Ford tractors) was "Llamas". He lived a bit west of Detroit in the town of Brighton where he and wife had a small hobby farm with llamas. Besides being a chemical engineer (AFAIK), he was a serious author of technical papers. When he spoke, I listened.
