Thanks for all the suggestions- our current setup relies on water trickling in most of the time from a spring, but as dry as it has been the water doesn't flow like it used to and seems to freeze up a little worse than before. At any rate, we still had to chop a couple inches of ice every morning and had to skin the ice off a couple times throughout the day, and I would like to get away from some of that. If any of you have any pictures of a wood or fuel-fired heater in place, I would appreciate seeing them. Mostly what I need to know is how to set it up so it drafts properly to burn efficiently.
