..well,I'm a member of the Canadian Legion.Our legion have categories. You can be an Associate member of an Affiliated member.Associate means you father or mother or close family members served their country. I had an uncle on my Dad's side and an Aunt on my Mother's side who served in WW2. An Affilliated member is fraternal,a member based on desire to serve the Legion and help veterans. All Legion members are expected to help with the poppy campaign,this is our Remembrance Day fund raiser,distributing poppies to schools,businesses and homes..our little Legion collected over 7 thousand dollars in a town of 750 population.All our poppy fund goes to help veterans in nursing homes,care in their own homes,repairs to their homes,comfort items etc...sounds like sons of the American legion to me..very similair
