Yesterday I had a thought about gun control that I have not seen or heard anything about, Which is: When our constitution was written, and the bill about the right to bear arms was included, The arms that were being referred to were to the best of my knowledge, flint lock muskets, because that was state of the art at that time. The private citizen was in effect guaranteed the right to be armed with weapons that are the equivalent to what the Gov't. armed forces were using. Those who are seeking to keep that right are not looking to keep more than just a fraction of what the law originally guaranteed. No one is looking for the right to maintain tanks, cruise missiles, nukes, or missile frigates. Only weapons that can be held in their two hands.
