That skid steer mounted mower will still leave stumps a few inches tall. They will still poke holes into tires.
The stumps really need to be removed to make it a safe field. I would not drive any tractor I own across that field right now. The threat of poking a hole in a rear tire that may very well be ruined would keep mine in the shed.
How many acres are we talking about?? They make a bucket for a skid steer that is kind of rake. It is for roots and stumps. If you do not have too large of an area then you may be able to "rake" the entire area and remove the stumps.
If it is a larger area then you maybe better off to work the ground and plant a grain crop on it and reseed it down into hay. Even with the ground worked you will have to pickup the roots/stumps for it to be safe to mow.
You are finding out the hard way that not maintaining ground can come back and bite you. Never let trees get larger than 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch in diameter. Any larger and they become spears to tires.
