Seldom does someone operate "Your" equipment as carefully as "YOU" operate your Own... My experience anyway..(Ever Lend a piece out, then look it over when it returns??)....!!! Repairs are most always required before you can use it yourself... Cash-renting sounds like a good idea, for now..

I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned.
