The hiway I take to and from work every day is a 2-lane blacktop, relatively straight stretch posted at 60 mph. That being said, most folks drive 65 to 70 on it, and if it's clear and the weather is good, I'll hit 75 here and there. I've seen several hiway patrol as well as deputies coming the other way and they never seem to notice my little pickup. Just the other day, one of my studenrs told me he got a tcket on a different hiway (posted speed limit of 55 mph). He said the officer wrote it for 72 but he was really doing 75. He then said, (I dunno if it's true) that any ticket of 20mph over the limit carries an attempted manslaughter charge in Missouri. I think I'm gonna slow her down a bit.
