In Alabama the speed limit appears to be a suggestion only. Several years ago was taking my dad to funeral in Georgia. Knew it would be an all day trip. He was 85-86 at the time. Got on i20 in b'ham and a car passed us like you mentioned. Dad said he bet they had radar. All I needed to know. Followed about 1 mile running from 85-90. On the return followed a truck doing the same. He always said that if they did not want them to go that fast they would put the gas pedal closer to the floor.
