A number of factors come into play with store eggs over farm eggs. Store eggs never sit under a bird since they are laid then roll out of the cage so no manure ever hits them either. Then they are sprayed with an oil to help keep them good and in a big cooler set at around 34 degrees. Farm eggs on the other had can sit in a nest box for hours with 2 or 3 chickens sitting on them over those hours and there droppings can hit the shell so ya they do not last as long due to the fact hey get dirty and they are not sprayed with an oil to keep them fresh
