Wife used to claim she could taste the difference, and I could see the difference, when she had Red Star hens, her favorite cross. I think it had more to do with their life style than breed. Although these were definitely "nice" chickens, if there is such a thing! We're hoping we'll have some grand children close by soon enough to make it worthwhile to have some again.
