Wixom closed years ago, it used to be a Lincoln only plant it was slated for closing back when I was selling Lincoln/Mercurys (1991-92). St Thomas in Ontario produced all the Panther bodied cars (Gran Marquis, Crown Victoria and Town Cars)until they closed a few years ago, you might be right on the Malibus but I thought that ours had VINs starting with 2, I might be wrong. Anyhow the group I bought all needed hard brakes (pads, shoes AND drums/rotors) and a steering U-joint before 75,000 miles a few ate front wheel bearings and ball joints and other small stuff. Don't get me wrong I don't like Chevy's but I thought the Malibu was a better size car, had more features and was easier to get in and out of then the Fords but the repairs and depreciation were costing more than Taurus(i) and Fusions.
