As far as the difference in pump price state by state the table below explains it, the federal tax on gasoline is 18.4 cents per gallon and 24.4 cents per gallon for diesel on top of the taxes listed below. People look at the withholding on their paychecks but seldom think about all the other taxes the various branches of government are levying, collecting and squandering. It is taxes in all forms and from all sources that is consuming our economy and stifiling economic growth, everyone should sit down and put a pencil to the amount of taxes they pay on a daily basis, every single thing bought or consumed is taxed on a minimum of two or three levels. Whwn you wake up in the morning and switch on a light you are paying tax.
