My Daughter-in-law, Susie,just got back home from Iowa City. They operated on Steve's left leg this afternoon. They pinned it back together. He will save it. She said that when they first started to work on him yesterday the circulation was not coming back in the leg like it should. That had them worrying that he may have had the circulation cut off when his leg was under him. They set his right shoulder last night. They have him wrapped to support his collar bone. He has a cast on his left arm and his right leg. She said his left leg is in some type of air cast. They are more worried about a blood clot now.
Steve does not remember anything after telling Carol that he was going to work on the silo. He does seem to be fine mentally. They worried he might have hit his head hard as he fell. He doe have a concussion but not a real bad one they say.
Susie said Steve was awake enought to talk to the kids when she got them there at Noon. Carol is going to stay at least tonight and tomorrow with him. Susie and John are going to just keep all the kids at their house for now. That way Steve and Carol don't have to worry about their everyday care for now.
I talked to Carol on the phone just a little while ago. She doe not want any fund or money donations. She said Steve and her always felt that those type of things should be handled in the family. Her words not mine. So I will respect that.
I may just have to tell her that Steve and her just got adopted. LOL
So anyway there is good news it seems on Steve's recovery.
PS. John is complaining that he is getting over whelmed with offers to help. He has different people schedule to do the things needed on the farm. He says right now there are too many wanting to do things. They are in the way. When things settle down in a few weeks then John will get a system all worked out.
