nope not the same. it is a decompression chamber that is used in diving accidents to treat the bends. they will press the patient down to at least 3 atmospheres (equivalent to about 90 ft of seawater) and administer 100 percent oxygen. hyperbaric oxygen has substantial healing qualities for many illnesses. healing ulcers from diabetes, treating severe burn victims, treating smoke inhilation ect. edgewater hospital in chicago has a huge hyperbaric facility. i did a 2 day run in the west palm beach chamber many years ago from a diving accident.
