I think there are multiple census/surveys going out right now. I got my Row Crop survey a few months ago, there was nothing mandatory about that one at all. I did answer when they called on the phone and asked me the questions.
I got a call a couple of days ago from a computer telling me that I would be receiving the ag census in the mail and my response was REQUIRED BY LAW. Mr. Computer didn't mention what the penalty was though. Probably the same penalty as refusing the population census... a $100 fine. I'd rather answer the questions... when they finally get me cornered, that is. LOL
