I'm still having issues with Windows 7 not responding to some of the business software I deal with. I temporarily went back to my old computer with XP just so I could get some work done.
My new computer had Windows 7 Home Premium, and I have on order Windows 7 Professional. It cost $136 on Amazon, but it's deductible for me, and if it solves my problems it's worth it. I understand it will interact with XP programs that 7 Home won't.
